January 2026

In 2025, National Development of America, Inc. advanced Florida’s affordable housing efforts through impactful projects and strategic partnerships. By securing key funding and emphasizing sustainable, accessible housing, the company expanded affordable living options across multiple communities. Below are the year’s key achievements:

  • Wauchula Place was completed and began welcoming new residents in September 2025. The community offers 22 three-bedroom, two-bathroom apartments and an outdoor recreation space. The building also achieved the National Green Building Standard Bronze certification! This recognition highlights the project’s commitment to energy and water efficiency, indoor environmental quality, and sustainable site development, choices that create healthier, more resilient, and cost-effective living environments. We were thrilled to partner with the Fuller Center for Housing of Hardee County on this community.
  • Holy Child Villas was completed in October 2025 and is located in Bowling Green, FL. This beautiful development offers 25 single family homes and a clubhouse. The homes feature 3 and 4-bedroom floor plans with each home having a driveway, spacious kitchen, living and dining room as well as a full-size washer and dryer. This development was possible thanks to our partnership with the Diocese of Venice.
  • Nine20 Manatee is a high rise community located in downtown Bradenton, FL that finished construction of their 12 story, 137 unit apartment building in May 2025. The community offers one and two bedroom floor plans with sophisticated finishes from top to bottom. There is also a beautiful skyline rooftop with an outdoor kitchen and firepit lounge area. This project came together with partnerships including Manatee County, the City of Bradenton and NDC Construction Company.
  • St Peter Claver Place, Phase II officially broke ground in July 2025. Located in Fort Myers, FL and offering a range of 1-, 2-, and 3-bedroom floorplans, each apartment is equipped with high-quality features including Energy Star-rated appliances, in-unit washers and dryers, granite countertops, and private patios. This development was made possible by partnering with the Diocese of Venice, Lee County, and CDBG-DR funding.
  • Casa San Juan Diego began construction of their 80 unit apartment community located in Immokalee, FL. The development will offer 40 – 3 bedroom and 40 – 2 bedroom floorplans with a large outdoor recreation space. Estimated completion is May 2027. Our partnerships included Diocese of Venice, Collier County Housing Authority and Collier County.
  • Grove at Theater Road is a new project that was awarded HOME funds from Florida Housing Finance Corporation in April 2025. The development will be in Bowling Green, FL and consist of 12, two-bedroom units and 12, three-bedroom units. All apartments will feature Energy Star rated appliances. There will be an outdoor recreational space. This project will receive HOME funds from Florida Housing Finance Corporation.
  • Sovereign at Harbor West is a proposed 32-unit development consisting of 1 and 2 bedroom garden style apartments, targeting elderly households. The project received HOME funds and 4% tax credits as financing.
  • Sovereign at Parkside East is a proposed 32-unit development consisting of 1 and 2 bedroom garden style apartments, targeting elderly households. The project received HOME funds and 4% tax credits as financing.
  • Lake Charles CNI
    • The Cottages is the first of seven phases for the HUD CNI project in Lake Charles, Louisiana. This is a 44-unit senior project and will start construction in April of 2026.
    • The Oaks – is the second phase and consists of 55 family units.
  • Melody Grove is a 79-unit acquisition rehab in Waco, TX. Financing for this project includes 9% tax credits and AHP funding while working in partnership with Waco Housing Authority.

National Development of America celebrates completion of Wauchula Place, delivering new affordable housing apartments in Hardee County

FORT MYERS, Fla. (Sept. 2, 2025) – National Development of America has completed construction of Wauchula Place, a new apartment community in Wauchula, Fla., that expands affordable housing options for Hardee County residents.

Wauchula Place offers 22 three-bedroom, two-bathroom apartments and an outdoor recreation space. Monthly rents range from $735 to $980 for qualified residents earning 50-60% of the area median income.

“We’re very grateful for our partnership with the Hardee Fuller Center and the strong support from city and county officials to help bring this project to fruition,” said John Raymond, director of real estate for National Development of America. “Wauchula Place is the perfect example of how a community can come together to achieve something impactful.”

Community leaders and representatives from the City of Wauchula, Hardee Fuller Center and National Development of America gathered for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the opening.

National Development embarked on this project three years ago to address the growing demand for affordable rental housing in Hardee County. In addition to providing homes for families, Wauchula Place is expected to strengthen local workforce stability and contribute to the area’s long-term economic vitality.
With population growth and rising housing costs across Florida, Wauchula Place reflects a broader commitment by National Development of America to help meet housing needs in smaller, underserved markets.

In 2024, National Development of America, Inc. made significant progress in addressing Florida’s affordable housing needs through a series of impactful projects. By partnering with local organizations, securing key funding, and focusing on sustainable and accessible living solutions, the company helped expand affordable housing options across multiple communities. Below is a recap of the key milestones achieved throughout the year.

  1. San Pedro at Meadow Park: In partnership with the Diocese of Venice in Florida, National Development of America, Inc. unveiled San Pedro at Meadow Park, a new affordable housing community in Arcadia. The development offers 23 three-bedroom, two-bathroom units with modern amenities such as stainless steel appliances and full-size washers and dryers. Construction was completed in January 2024.
  2. Wauchula Place: With financing from the Florida Community Loan Fund and federal HOME program funds, National Development of America, Inc. began construction on Wauchula Place in June 2024. This new development will feature 22 garden-style apartments, equipped with Energy Star-rated appliances, and will cater to low-income households in need of affordable housing. Construction will be completed in Summer 2025.
  3. Holy Child: Construction commenced on this new development which consists of 25 single family homes and a clubhouse. The homes will feature 3 and 4-bedroom floorplans with each home having a driveway, spacious kitchen, living and dining room as well as a full-size washer and dryer. This development is expected to greatly contribute to the much-needed affordable housing within the City of Bowling Green. Construction will be completed in Fall 2025.
  4. St. Peter Claver Place Apartments – Phase 1: This development, providing affordable housing for individuals earning up to 60% of the Area Median Income, includes 136 units with two-bedroom, two-bath and three-bedroom, two-bath floorplans. Amenities include stainless steel appliances, quartz countertops, walk-in closets, and luxury vinyl flooring. Construction was complete in April 2024.
  5. St. Peter Claver Place – Phase II: This new project was awarded funding from Lee County’s CDBG-DR in the Fall and will break ground in 2025. This second phase will consist of 72 units with a mix of one, two, and three-bedroom homes in Fort Myers, FL.
  6. Bahia Vista Apartments – 250-unit joint venture project located in Sarasota, FL. The property will contain 35 affordable units.
  7. Casa San Juan Diego: secured funding from the Florida Housing Finance Corporation and Collier County to develop an 80-unit project in Immokalee, FL, featuring two and three-bedroom floorplans.
  8. Kenner Housing Development – 121-units including 40 new construction and 79 fully rehabbed units plus a community center. This project is located in Kenner, LA and in partnership with Kenner Housing Authority.

  • Wauchula Place – Wauchula, FL – 22 units
  • Kenner Housing Development – Kenner, LA – 121 units
  • Bahia Vista Apartments – Sarasota, FL – 250 units

These initiatives highlight National Development of America, Inc.’s ongoing commitment to enhancing affordable housing options for low- and moderate-income families across the state.

August 2024

Wauchula Place – $750,000 FCLF loan

  • Financing for land acquisition and construction
  • 22 units of affordable housing

“The Florida Community Loan Fund team helped get our project off to a great start. Their team communicated well and was solution oriented throughout the underwriting and closing process. In Wauchula, as in many areas of Florida, there is a shortage of available and affordable rental housing. In Hardee County, an estimated 42% of renter households are cost-burdened, meaning they pay more than 35% of income on housing and related expenses.

April 2024

St. Peter Claver Place Apartments, a new affordable housing complex in Fort Myers, has units that are now up for rent. The Dioceses of Venice and the National Development of America unveiled the apartments at 10 a.m. on Tuesday in a ribbon-cutting ceremony, with Mayor Kevin Anderson in attendance, along with the City of Fort Myers councilmembers.

July 2023

National Development of America is excited to announce that we have recently been awarded HOME funds from Florida Housing Finance Corporation to be used towards our two brand new projects! We hope to begin construction on these developments by the beginning of 2024.

Wauchula Place will be located off Diana Ave in Wauchula, FL. The property will consist of 22 garden style apartments with 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom floorplans situated on roughly 6 acres. Each apartment will feature Energy Star rated appliances and all first floor units will have their own patios.

Holy Child will be located off Chester Ave and East Banana St in Bowling Green, FL. The property will consist of 25 single family homes with both 3 and 4 bedroom floorplans. All homes will feature Energy Star rated appliances. This community will sit on approximately 9 acres which will include an onsite clubhouse and an outdoor recreational space.

April 2023

This week, we celebrated the ceremonial groundbreaking of St. Peter Claver Place Apartments, an affordable housing apartment complex in the City of Fort Myers’ MLK redevelopment area. We’re proud to partner with the Diocese of Venice in Florida, the City of Fort MyersFort Myers Community Redevelopment Agency and LEE COUNTY HOUSING AUTHORITY to bring affordably priced rental apartments to our community.

While Hurricane Ian may have delayed this commemorative event, we’ve made strong progress on construction and look forward to completing Phase 1 in early 2024.
