Project Narrative

Kingsley Court is a 24 unit, single-family development in Lake Charles, Louisiana. The development was part of a planned demolition of an existing 72 unit development, originally built in 1948. This was a new site purchased by the Lake Charles Housing Authority, and residents were relocated from the original development to Kingsley Court. Kingsley Court was awarded tax credits in 2010.

The mixed-finance plan includes leveraging investor equity from Hudson Capital, with Section 109 Funds allocated to the Lake Charles Housing Authority from HUD. Not only did Kingsley Court address current deteriorating physical conditions of the original development, but it expanded the supply of affordable housing and created additional replacement housing for those affected by Hurricane Rita.
